Network Slowdown, what's going on?

what's been up with the slow release of new networks? Are people becoming less motivated to make one? And if so, why is that? Is it because they now realize that it's not that prestigious to make one anymore, or could it be an increase in apathy within the network community?

Finally, a post about this. I've been wondering about the amount of networks as well. It's seems as though the future of networking is questionable.

I don't think network creation is slowing down one bit. Quite a few exist, and more continue to be made.

I have to agree. I've seen less and less network since the implosion of the World Cool Experts. Furthermore, I've also like to note that this could also be because of the increase of difficulty with the newer versions of PHPBB.
